EAR CANDLING

Hopi ear candling (also known as thermal-auricular therapy) is a safe and entirely natural therapy.

The benefits of this soothing and calming treatment include clearer hearing by removing excess wax, a sharpened sense of smell and taste, and improvement to inner ear balance (which is beneficial for post driving and post flight pressure).

The origins of ear candling have been handed down through many civilisations starting with the Ancient Greeks over three thousand years ago, the Egyptians, Chinese, East Indians and Tibetans also used them for cleansing, purifying and healing both on a spiritual and practical level. More recently, the candles were used by the shaman healers of the Hopi Indian tribe, in medicinal ceremonies and initiations to clear negative energies from the head and aura.

MORE ABOUT EAR CANDLING

Your treatment starts with a relaxing acupressure massage to the head and face; this is very effective for lymphatic and sinus drainage. The ear candle is then lit and positioned gently inside your ear, just enough so a seal is made and it is comfortable. As the candle’s flame warms the air within the candle, it in turn warms the air inside the ear (this will be undetectable to you). Any impurities and excess ear wax are gently warmed and drawn up into the candle; similar to a chimney effect. Gentle vibrations act to softly massage the ear, and the rising air helps to regulate pressure. It is a very relaxing and therapeutic feeling.

At Zensations, only Biosun manufactured ear candles are used for your health and safety; these have been certified with the CE mark according to the European Medical Device Directive. They are handmade, using 100% natural ingredients such as cotton, beeswax, honey, sage, chamomile and St. John’s wort, true to the original Hopi Indian tradition.

What Our Clients Say

  • Stress from my busy work and family life made me feel exhausted. My friend recommended going to Sally for massage. I currently receive aromatherapy massage and it is working wonders, by the time I leave, I feel like I’m floating on air, without a care in the world, and I’m sleeping better. Sally is lovely, she is understanding and puts you at ease. Her massages are heaven on earth, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

  • I spend a lot of time in the gym and often my muscles feel wayyyy too tight. I could never find anyone to massage me deeply enough. That changed when I met Sally, she really knows how to make a grown man cry!! She works so deeply, it gets rid of all the aches & pains that really bug me. Afterwards I'm always freer and I can move again without hurting. I see Sally whenever I need help. I do recommend her to my friends.

  • A fantastic experience from online booking through to the after service. Not only do you get one of the most robust, targeted and non-hurried massages going (I have the remedial sessions), but there's lots of science stuff to go with it. So when you have an ache, you don't just get a knot worked on, you get a proper explanation of what's going on with your posture to create it in the first place, a look at an iPad app with photos of posture and detailed background, then a massage focussed on that issue, as well as some exercises emailed home afterwards so that you try and fix what the issue was over the long term. Plus the room itself is really lovely, modern and relaxing, and Sally is a very welcoming, skilled practitioner. Can't think why you'd want to get a massage anywhere else!

  • If you want a little piece of Heaven, take a trip to see Sally at Zensations and try the Reflexology. I guarantee you will walk out after your session feeling like you are floating on air. Your feet will feel like cushions and you'll sleep like a baby. This is a very professional set up, with low lighting, soothing music, amazing scents and the warmest, comfiest treatment bed you'll ever find. I went as a one-off treat to myself and now I admit I'm hooked. I would recommend this treatment to anyone. Amazing!

  • I have been going to the gym for several years now. I’m in my mid fifties and every so often I seem to injure myself for one reason or another. I end up having to take time out from the gym until I recover. One nagging problem I had for about two years, before meeting Sally, was Golfers elbow. I had been to the Doctors a few times regarding this problem, and I was told to wear a Tennis /Golfer Elbow support strap and stay away from weights in the Gym. But when I met Sally and she told me she could help, I thought I would give it a try. Well, if I’d have known Sally could relieve the pain in just a few massages I would have gone to her a lot sooner. I wish the Doctor had told me to get help rather than fobbing me off with a couple of useless suggestions. I’m now a regular at Sally’s, she just seems to know what is needed for whatever I go to see her about, I now go for prevention massages rather than wait until I’m injured, Sally will recommend stretches to prevent future problems when she notices tight muscles. Sally gives a very relaxing, unhurried massage. Every time I see her, she is so professional and knowledgeable, and her room is so relaxing with the soft music and oil diffuser fragrances. Sally is also very easy to get on with. I would recommend Sally to anyone and in fact I already have, to more than a few.

  • My first time with Sally and the experience was absolutely fabulous! I went to her exhausted , stressed and out of sorts needing pampering and healing. Her room is a haven! Such a tranquil environment and the attention to detail with everything a real treat! Peppermint tea, beautiful music and the gorgeous smell of oils in the air. She selected aromatherapy oils to suit my needs and then followed the most blissful full body massage which was the best treatment I have ever had. Her massage technique is amazing, and I came out feeling like a new person! The next day I woke up feeling energised and happy! I have been to many places where I feel as if it's been rushed and not quite right. Little things missing and with Sally you feel that she really loves what she does and focuses completely on what your body and mind needs. I can't wait for my next treatment. Thank you Sally, so glad I've found you! :0)
